Living Crib in Riccione
In Riccione the crib is living and touching. Would you like to live with your family a touching experience that makes memorable this Christmas?
Have you ever seen a living crib?
In Italy many villages used to recall the Nativity in their picturesque lanes and corners, following the idea of Francis of Assisi that, first, in 1223, represented the birth of Jesus in the Umbrian town of Greccio.
This year in the inland of Riccione the traditional living crib of Montefiore Conca returns after two years of suspension for the restoration work at the Malatesta Fortress, as one of the most fascinating of the province of Rimini.
Walking along the streets and squares of the medieval village you will meet, among 150 characters in costume, the shepherd and his flock, you will see blacksmiths, carpenters and cobblers at work and you will get warm at a crackling fire, while the sweet music of a reed-pipe will make the atmosphere even more full of suggestions.
At the hut of the Nativity then you will have a dive into the heart…
At its seventeenth edition, the living crib of Montefiore Conca is planned on Friday December 26 from 4.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., or, with the same schedule, on Sunday Dec. 28 and on Sunday January 4 2009.
The last representation of Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 5.30 p.m., will be special with the arrival of the Magi to the hut.
If you want instead to stay in town, even Riccione has for some years its living crib thanks to the equal schools of the “Fondazione Karis Foundation”.
Students, parents and teachers will meet on Sunday December 21 at 4.45 p.m. at the Congress Centre.
From there the costume parade will move towards the Tourism Palace for the representation of the Nativity (going through the Piazzetta del Faro, via Ippolito Nievo and Viale dei Giardini).
If you are looking for a full of emotions Christmas, choose Riccione and the living crib.
We are waiting for you in the Riccione Family Hotels with special holiday packages, a joyful animation, a delicious menu and a lot of surprises under the tree…
