Children’s nutrition in summer

Nutrition in summer is a fundamental element for the well-being and the health of your child. As it is necessary to pay much attention to the solar protection of your son, it is also important to follow a correct nutrition also when you are on holiday.

In summer it is very important to drink often and to hydrate the skin of your child. Water is always the best drink, but also low-sugar fruit-juices are good.

As regard food, you have to avoid fats and fried foods (doughnuts, pizza, chips and chocolate), wich weight down your child and can cause him itches and reddenings during sun exposure, but also solar erythemas and acetone. In order to avoid acetone’s risks, above all with newborns, you have to eliminate milk, cheese and eggs for the first days and than re-introduce theme in your child’s diet.

In summer it’s better to privilege fruit and vegetables (especially tomatoes and carrots), pasta and rice with little condiments, steamed fish, ice-creams (fruit flavoured ones are better) and yogurt.
